Yesterday was the first "real" morning waking up in London. We were all settled in after the move on Sunday (finally an end to living out of suitcases!) and since the apartment still hasn't got any blinds installed we woke up with the sun. Cathal said he has never had such a good night's sleep, and I tend to agree. It's as if this reality we've been waiting for, working for, over the last year is finally now. That realisation that we are finally living what we've been talking about is rather insane.
Most people long for those special moments in a relationship. They live for the anniversaries and vacations. Having done long distance we've had those occasions in abundance. We've instead missed the day-to-day and the little bickering that is such an essential part of any "ordinary" relationship. Long distance is great but waking up next to each other every morning, even if we went to bed having an argument, is amazing.
It's especially amazing in a place like this. Without going in to too much detail we managed to land a one-bed apartment in the outskirts of Hackney with the most instagramable windows I've ever seen! For the few of you who actually care for my social media, you will get to know this all in due time... But, for now you get a little sneak peak above!
Classes start tomorrow and I just can't wait to get in to a proper routine again... And to be challenged and to learn!
Yes. I am a nerd.
