In all honesty it has taken me months, if not years, to find myself a pair of white jeans. Endless hours of sweating, cursing, and even an odd tear or two in a changing room with unflattering lighting. This in combination with a stupid styling tip from a mid 2000's Cosmopolitan article about how bigger hips doesn't suit white has made my journey to find the perfect pair worse than that of Frodo trecking through Middle-earth.
But finally I found them. Diggin for treassure at H&M's new venture, Afound, I stumbled upon a pair that had everything that I wanted in a pair of white jeans. High waist. A boyfriend cut. Stressing to the fabric. It was as if by a miracle the last pair, in my size, to the flabbergastingly good price of £5.
However I have lived the last 22 years of my life never owning a pair of white jeans. I ended up at home, strutting around in my new find in front of the mirror and asked myself the crucial question: How? How do you style a pair of white jeans? I took to the trusty internet to find some inspiration, and thought I'd share it with you.
In the end my styling quest resulted in the outfit pictured above. A sort of white take on the Canadian Suit, i.e denim on denim, with an ever trendy 80's flair. Not the most practical perhaps (hello nipslip), but never the less I felt like I could be an extra in any 80's RomCom and I count that as success.
